Role Overview
The successful candidate will play an active role in the Playcomp project that aims to promote video game literacy for teachers and improve civic, social and emotion skills for secondary-school students. In this sense, it advocates for video games as artistic and cultural resources. After completing its work with three schools (Cantabria, Navarre and Portugal), new requirements linked to the project have emerged.
Responsibilities
- Collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative samples from different schools
- Categorising, anonymising and uploading data to public repositories
- Tackling theoretical and conceptual aspects linked to education, game studies and teacher training
- Supporting teachers across different schools when implementing the Playcomp programme
- Designing and reviewing educational resources through video games
- Supporting and managing the project website and participating in other outreach activities (podcasts, press releases, etc.).
Requirements and Qualifications
Education Level: Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Research Field: Educational sciences
Skills/Qualifications: A Degree in Social Sciences (teacher training, pedagogy, communication, sociology or other areas linked to the project).
Specific Requirements:
- Experience designing teaching resources, specifically for graphic design
- Qualitative and quantitative data collection and processing skills, as well as categorising and uploading data to public repositories
- Data analysis software skills
- Experience working with WordPress and other software for project outreach
- Familiarity with video game and education studies theory.
Language requirements: Solid skills in English, Spanish and other languages will be highly regarded, especially co-official languages in Spain.
Experience requirements: Experience at schools (teaching, teacher training, etc.). and in the field of communication and graphic design.
