Role Overview:
The successful candidate will undertake research activities in optimising and managing resources, within the scope of the computing continuum (Cloud-Fog-Edge-IoT). Particular focus will be placed on seeking AI-based applications, using AI agents, using and adapting LLM models and the intent-based optimisation paradigm. The tasks undertaken in this position may align with early-stage work for a future PhD thesis and lead to scientific publications. The contract may be extended beyond its initial term based on the candidate's performance and scientific progress and findings during the initial contract term.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake research activities in optimising and managing resources within the Cloud-Fog-Edge-IoT computing continuum.
- Develop and implement AI-based applications using AI agents.
- Use and adapt Large Language Model (LLM) models.
- Apply the intent-based optimisation paradigm.
- Pursue scientific research with the intention of writing a PhD thesis.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science or similar, or a Degree in Computer Engineering.
- Skills:
- Python programming skills.
- Knowledge of large language models (LLMs).
- Experience in programming AI applications and agents.
- Specific Requirements:
- A clear intention to pursue scientific research and write a PhD thesis.
- Fulfilling the conditions to enrol on the UIB PhD in Information and Communications Technology.
- Language: No mandatory language requirements; a solid command of English is a plus.
- Experience: Previous research work in the field of computer science is a plus, though not essential.
