Responsibilities
Independently generate new business opportunities throughout Southeast Michigan. Prospect builders, contractors, developers, property managers, designers, commercial organizations, and homeowners. Conduct cold calling, canvassing, door-to-door outreach, job-site visits, and networking activities. Identify active construction, renovation, and property improvement projects. Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified sales opportunities. Convert new relationships into long-term accounts and recurring revenue. Manage both assigned and self-generated customer accounts. Develop trusted relationships with key decision-makers. Maintain ongoing contact with customers to generate repeat business and referrals. Monitor upcoming projects and identify future sales opportunities. Serve as the primary sales contact for assigned accounts. Manage opportunities from prospecting through closing and project completion. Conduct discovery meetings to assess customer needs. Recommend products and project solutions. Prepare pricing, proposals, and estimates. Present solutions and negotiate agreements. Close residential, commercial, builder, and contractor opportunities. Maintain accurate CRM notes, pipeline activity, and follow-up schedules. Track sold projects through scheduling, installation, and final handoff. Review plans, measurements, specifications, and scopes of work. Prepare accurate project estimates and proposals. Calculate material quantities, labor requirements, and project costs. Identify factors that may impact pricing, schedule, or installation requirements. Collaborate with internal teams on large or complex projects. Develop expertise in hard-surface and soft-surface flooring products. Educate customers on product features, performance, maintenance, and installation considerations. Recommend products based on budget, design preferences, durability requirements, and project needs. Stay current on industry products and market trends. Assist walk-in showroom customers. Conduct product consultations and needs assessments. Generate residential and retail sales opportunities. Schedule measurements, appointments, and follow-up visits. Convert referrals and showroom traffic into completed sales. Represent the company at industry and community events. Participate in builder associations, chamber of commerce meetings, trade events, golf outings, and networking activities. Build relationships that increase visibility and generate referrals. Serve as a professional ambassador for the organization.
