Software Engineer
Salary: $79,000 - 135,000 per year
Requirements:
We require an active Secret clearance, with eligibility to obtain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information access. We require U.S. citizenship to qualify for clearance processing. We need experience across the embedded hardware lifecycle, including design, testing, and integration. We require proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium. We require hands-on experience writing embedded firmware for microprocessors. We prefer familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. We seek a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or a related discipline; a masters degree is preferred. We value strong independent initiative, clear written and verbal communication, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and adaptability to changing workloads. We expect candidates to be comfortable in an office/lab environment, with minimal travel and the ability to periodically lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
We evaluate, analyze, and develop systems that combine hardware, software, and supporting infrastructure to improve operational performance. We translate high-level needs into integrated engineering designs. We perform technical trade-off analyses to balance risk, cost, and benefit when making design decisions. We design and integrate custom electrical circuits and durable mechanical packaging. We develop bare-metal C/C++ firmware using a test-driven approach. We manage source code and configuration in GitLab. We may develop full-stack applications using SQL, C++ services, and React/Next.js. We carry out developmental testing and solution evaluation. We maintain compliance with configuration management and documentation standards.
