The Grille Manager is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations within the club’s grille room and dining areas. This role ensures a high-quality, consistent, and welcoming experience for members and guests by leading daily service, managing staff, and maintaining the club’s standards of hospitality. The Grille Manager plays a key role in creating a vibrant, efficient, and member-focused dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
Member Experience & Service Execution
• Deliver a warm, attentive, and personalized dining experience for members and guests
• Maintain a strong floor presence during all service periods (lunch, dinner, and peak club events)
• Recognize member preferences and build lasting relationships
• Address and resolve service issues quickly and professionally
Grille Operations
• Oversee daily operations of the grille room, patio dining, and all member dining spaces
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and table turns to optimize flow of service
• Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all FOH dining areas
Team Leadership & Development
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise servers and support staff
• Lead daily pre-shift meetings, communicating menu features, events, and service priorities
• Coach staff on service standards, upselling techniques, and member engagement
• Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
Coordination with Culinary Team
• Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service execution
• Communicate menu changes, specials, and service timing expectations
Event & Club Activity Support
• Support club events, golf tournaments, and social functions as needed
• Ensure grille service aligns with daily club activities and member traffic patterns
• Assist with dining service execution during high-volume club events
Administrative & Financial Oversight
• Create and manage staff schedules based on forecasted business levels
• Monitor labor costs and productivity within budget guidelines
• Oversee POS accuracy and daily service reporting
• Manage FOH supplies including linens, table settings, and service equipment
Compliance & Standards
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Maintain high standards for staff appearance, service etiquette, and professionalism
• Enforce all club policies and procedures consistently
Qualifications
• 2–5+ years of restaurant or private club management experience (grille or casual fine dining preferred)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage high-volume service while maintaining quality
• Knowledge of food service standards and dining room operations
• Experience with POS systems and scheduling software
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
