Responsibilities
Serve as primary point of contact for a portfolio of employee benefits clients; Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs; Conduct regular meetings to review benefit programs and discuss improvements; Provide strategic advice on employee benefits plans including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; Analyze and evaluate clients' current benefit programs and make recommendations for enhancements; Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes; Collaborate with clients to design and implement employee benefits plans; Work with insurance carriers and vendors to negotiate plan terms, pricing, and services; Oversee implementation of new benefits plans; Ensure clients' benefits plans comply with all applicable laws and regulations; Provide guidance on compliance issues including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, section 125 plans, SPD, FSA, HRA, form 5500 filing and COBRA; Assist clients with benefits administration including enrollment, claims, and employee communications; Conduct benefits education for clients and their employees; Prepare and distribute communications materials; Address client and employee inquiries promptly; Mentor and provide guidance to junior account managers; Collaborate with internal teams including sales, underwriting, and customer service; Participate in cross-functional projects; Coordinate pre-renewal strategy and planning including scheduling, marketing, quoting, and plan analysis; Present renewals and recommend benefit plan options; Strategize with account executive/broker for marketing, renewal, and open enrollment activities; Serve as knowledgeable resource for account management support team and clients in areas of eligibility, claims, COBRA, underwriting guidelines, and compliance; Delegate tasks to support team members; Acquire and maintain high level experience in agency supported technology tools; Pursue professional development and continuing education.
