## About the Role
Carbon Arc is hiring its first full-time marketing leader to build and scale the marketing engine behind our next stage of growth.
This is a hands-on, strategic role for someone who can own day-to-day marketing strategy and execution while building the foundation for a broader function over time. You will lead performance marketing across paid search, paid social, and emerging channels, manage external agency partners, drive budget strategy, and partner closely with Product, Sales, Engineering, Legal, and Finance to improve acquisition, conversion, and revenue outcomes.
You should be comfortable moving between strategy and execution: setting channel strategy, reviewing ad creative, managing compliance feedback, owning agency accountability, improving conversion tracking, optimizing landing pages, and translating campaign learnings into sharper positioning and creative strategy. This role is ideal for someone with deep performance marketing experience across B2B and B2C technology who wants to build the marketing function from the ground up in a high-growth, AI-native data infrastructure company.
## Responsibilities
- Lead Carbon Arc's paid acquisition strategy across Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta, X, Reddit, and other performance channels, with clear ownership of pipeline, CAC, ROAS, and ROI.
- Manage the external paid media agency as the primary point of contact, setting priorities, reviewing execution, and holding the team accountable to performance targets.
- Own budget strategy and optimization across channels, including investment planning, campaign mix, bid strategy direction, and when to shift spend from traffic to conversion.
- Lead ad creative development and testing across copy, design, CTAs, audiences, and landing experiences, partnering with contract designers and leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude Design, Canva).
- Own conversion tracking and performance measurement across GTM, Google Ads, Meta, landing pages, thank-you pages, and event-based funnel tracking, partnering with Product and Engineering where needed.
- Drive conversion rate optimization and experimentation across the full post-click journey, improving landing pages, registration flows, purchase conversion, and overall funnel efficiency.
- Turn campaign, ICP, message, and creative learnings into clear recommendations that shape future positioning, audience strategy, creative themes, and marketing team buildout.
## Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of performance marketing or growth marketing experience, ideally across both B2B and B2C technology products.
- Deep command of paid acquisition channels including Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta, X, Reddit, and emerging performance platforms.
- Proven ability to manage external agencies, own marketing budgets, set KPIs, and optimize spend against CAC, ROAS, pipeline, and ROI.
- Strong testing and analytics mindset, with experience running A/B tests across creative, copy, audiences, landing pages, tracking, and conversion flows.
- Clear, senior-level communicator who can work cross-functionally with Product, GTM, Engineering, and Legal to turn data into decisions.
## Nice to Have
- Experience building marketing programs for both self-serve and enterprise motions.
- Familiarity with tools such as HubSpot, Google Tag Manager, Claude, Canva, and similar platforms.
- Experience using AI tools to prototype and iterate on landing pages, ads, and other collateral.
- Prior experience as an early marketing hire at a startup.
- Experience building or scaling a small internal marketing team over time.
