## About the Company
We're on a mission to become the world's most customer-obsessed HR platform.
Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Borderless AI is a global payroll solution that leverages generative AI to automate and accelerate the onboarding, management, and payment of international team members, making it seamless to build and scale teams across borders.
Borderless AI has raised over $35M in funding from leading investors including Susquehanna and Bernard Arnault (via Aglaé Ventures), and is proud to support industry leaders such as Telus, The Ritz-Carlton, Mejuri, Ground News, and Dunlop.
With strategic partnerships across the HR ecosystem, including ADP, Workday, and Paychex, Borderless AI has achieved product-market fit and is building a profitable, enduring company for the long term.
## About the Role
The Opportunity:
We're looking for a strategic, systems-minded operator to lead one of the most important initiatives at Borderless AI: expanding our ability to act as a true EOR in 180+ countries while making sure our payroll and payment execution is world-class in any currently operated countries.
Today, our core EOR capabilities are live in a select number of countries. This role will spearhead the operational infrastructure, compliance frameworks, vendor transitions, and legal and payment foundations needed for Borderless AI to operate directly and compliantly around the world.
In countries where we already operate, your mission is to level up how we work - process, tooling, technology and reporting - you'll own this end to end to build a scalable and resilient payments machine that continues to be best in class in our industry.
This isn't about maintaining the status quo — it's about helping to architect the next phase of a global HR platform. It's a highly cross-functional role with direct business impact and a massive opportunity for growth.
## Responsibilities
- Level up our internal payroll delivery at scale across multiple countries, working cross functionally to deliver a consistent and scalable solution
- Project manage change in our payment stack to continue improving the experience and reliability for our customers
- Build and execute the roadmap to scale our in-house EOR capabilities from a few countries to global coverage
- Partner with Customer Success and Product, Engineering to ensure operational readiness and quality in each market
- Develop and implement systems and processes to reduce reliance on third-party vendors
- Find and execute the paths to opening bank accounts, developing payroll systems, building partnerships with benefits providers, all while making sure we're compliant with local laws and regulations
## Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in accounting, finance, operations, legal/compliance, or HR at a high-growth company, ideally with global exposure
- A bias for systems-thinking and comfort with ambiguity — you're energized by building from scratch
- An understanding of payments, ideally in a cross-border capacity
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects involving Customer Success, Development, and Product teams
- Experience working with vendors, international compliance frameworks, or EOR providers is a big plus
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- A strong sense of ownership — you care deeply about the quality and impact of your work
## What We Offer
About the Borderless AI team:
- We're an early stage company and we love to collaborate in person 5 days a week in our Toronto HQ.
- We offer a healthy benefits & perks package, including free lunch everyday.
- Customers are the heart of our business, we're obsessed with our customers, and that drives the bulk of our decisions.
Big challenges don't scare us. We're solving global problems that need creativity, technology, and determination. Be part of the impact!
We'll grant you a lot of autonomy and trust, and back it up with meaningful empowerment and support.
