Senior Systems Engineer - FPGA & GPU
Salary: $100,000 - 145,000 per year
Requirements:
We require a bachelors degree with at least 6 years of relevant engineering experience, a graduate degree with at least 4 years of related experience, or 10 years of comparable experience in lieu of a degree. We need hands-on experience with FPGA or GPU-based design, including VHDL, Verilog, CUDA, test benches, and simulation tools. We look for a strong grounding in RF and microwave fundamentals, including antennas, receivers, spectral behavior, and front-end architecture. We expect experience with signal analysis methods and tools such as pulse analysis, modulation evaluation, and emitter characterization. We require knowledge of radar fundamentals, including pulse radar, CW/FMCW, LPI principles, scan patterns, and threat system behavior. We need experience using MATLAB and Python for algorithm development, modeling, automation, data analysis, and visualization. We look for experience working with large IQ/sample data sets and building automated processing workflows. We require familiarity with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, vector signal analyzers, and AWGs. We expect experience with SDR platforms, digitizers, and receiver systems. We require an active Secret clearance or a recently held Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to maintain it. We need the ability to work occasional overtime or weekend hours when necessary. Preferred: active TS/SCI clearance. Preferred: experience integrating and troubleshooting complex RF or electronic warfare receiver systems. Preferred: experience using JIRA, Confluence, and DOORS for requirements and workflow management. Preferred: experience developing and implementing advanced DSP algorithms. Preferred: familiarity with system-level SEI, LPI/LPE techniques, or advanced emitter analysis methods. Preferred: experience in software integration and system-level testing. Preferred: proficiency with standard office and documentation tools.
Responsibilities:
We lead FPGA and GPU architectural design, HDL coding, test bench creation, simulation, and analysis for high-performance DSP and signal-processing applications. We perform RF, microwave, and radar analysis, including spectrum behavior, propagation effects, receiver and front-end characteristics, pulse parameters, PRI/PW/RF measurement, modulation recognition, and emitter characterization. We apply DSP techniques such as FFTs, filtering, detection, estimation, and time-frequency analysis to support design and verification. We carry out systems engineering activities including requirements development, CONOPS definition, integration planning, test procedure creation, and performance analysis. We work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to plan and conduct system integration testing in laboratory and platform environments. We document system behavior, anomalies, and integration results in line with engineering standards, and verify and validate functionality across new and legacy baselines. We troubleshoot RF chains, timing and synchronization issues, calibration concerns, and hardware/software interactions during integration. We collaborate with customers to confirm system performance and clarify operational needs. We provide technical updates to management and customers and contribute to schedule, risk, and resource planning. We produce end-user documentation, integration reports, and technical analysis packages as needed. We operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with time-critical milestones and changing technical priorities. We uphold the highest ethical standards for ourselves and others and perform additional duties as assigned.
