We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Backend Engineer to lead the development and optimization of our backend AI infrastructure. ## Role Overview As the Senior Backend Engineer - AI Product Lead, you will oversee the backend architecture of VoxTonePRO, focusing on the integration and optimization of AI APIs to ensure scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency. This role requires expertise in backend development, AI tools, and budget-conscious decision-making to maximize the value of our AI integrations. ## Key Responsibilities - AI API Integration: - Lead the integration and management of OpenAI, Gemini, and other third-party AI APIs. - Design systems to optimize API calls, reduce latency, and maintain high performance. - Cost Optimization: - Develop strategies to minimize costs associated with frequent API calls by implementing caching, batching, and other cost-saving techniques. - Monitor usage patterns and recommend adjustments to stay within budget. - Backend System Design: - Build and maintain scalable and secure backend infrastructure for AI-powered features. - Ensure robust data pipelines to support real-time AI interactions. - Performance Monitoring and Debugging: - Establish monitoring systems to track API usage, system performance, and user interactions. - Debug and resolve backend issues promptly. - Collaboration and Leadership: - Work closely with the product and AI teams to define requirements and deliver solutions. - Provide technical leadership to junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Security and Compliance: - Ensure all AI integrations comply with data privacy and security regulations. - Implement best practices for handling sensitive user and business data. ## Qualifications - Technical Expertise: - Strong experience with backend development using languages such as Python, Node.js, or Java. - Deep understanding of AI/ML APIs and their integration. Familiarity with caching, batching, and optimization techniques to reduce API usage costs. - AI API Experience: - Hands-on experience with APIs such as OpenAI, Gemini, or similar. Proven ability to design cost-efficient solutions while maintaining performance. - Infrastructure Skills: - Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and database systems. - Experience with serverless architectures and microservices is a plus. - Analytical Thinking: - Ability to analyze API usage patterns and devise strategies to optimize costs.
