What Aphex does

Aphex is the execution platform for major construction projects, the connected system where teams plan their upcoming work, coordinate their day-to-day, and capture the daily record. Everything draws from the same live plan.

Major contractors like Acciona, CPB Contractors, John Holland, and McConnell Dowell use Aphex to deliver projects from £50 million to multi-billion pound mega projects. We're market-leading in Australia and the United Kingdom, supporting teams building the roads, rail, tunnels, and hospitals that millions use every day.

The Role

Your mission: help us build Diary, our production tracking and record capture product, and grow into owning more of feature delivery over time.

Diary isn't another site diary. We're rethinking how construction teams capture and mobilise what actually happened on site: records connected to the live plan rather than siloed, low-friction capture rather than rigid forms, and AI woven through so recording is easier and insight surfaces on its own. A lot of it lives on mobile, out on site.

We've spent the last 18 months piloting and refining Diary. It's now live with enterprise clients who are getting real value from it, the feedback has been strong, and there's still plenty of ground to cover. You'd join the dedicated team early, staying close to users and adapting the product to how they actually work, alongside the Product Leader and Senior Product Manager for Diary and a development team based in the Philippines.

Why This Matters: Right now, what happens on site lives in scattered notes, photos, and rigid forms that nobody looks at again. Diary is the record layer for that — connected to the live plan, low-friction enough that people actually use it, with AI surfacing insight instead of leaving it buried. You'd be joining while it's still early: live with enterprise clients, proven out, but with most of the shape still being decided. The work you do here directly changes how thousands of people on site capture and use their own records.

What You'll Do

• Support feature delivery: work closely with the Product Leader and Senior Product Manager to help take features from discovery through quality assurance to launch — writing clear specs, spotting blockers early, and holding the quality bar

• Stay close to the user: work with our customer teams and users to understand how sites actually work, and help turn that into features worth building

• Work across the team: you're a connector between design, engineering, and our customer-facing teams (Customer Experience and Customer Success). You help keep the day-to-day rhythms running smoothly across timezones, flag dependencies your work touches, and muck in wherever it's needed, including manual quality assurance

About you

Essential:

• At least 2 years in a product role, or something adjacent like quality assurance, delivery, or project management, with the instincts to grow into product fast

• A real eye for detail, and you start from what the user actually needs

• A clear, direct communicator

Highly valued:

• Mobile product experience

• Background in construction technology, B2B SaaS, or productivity tools

• Comfortable experimenting with how we build, AI-led or otherwise

• Grounded but not dogmatic about textbook product practice — curious about what to keep and what to adapt
