Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and commercially driven VP/SVP, Team Lead to lead a team of Midcap Relationship Managers and oversee the growth and performance of the Midcap Agri Team.
This leadership role carries end-to-end accountability for:
• Revenue growth and portfolio performance
• Client franchise development and market penetration
• Credit quality and risk management
• Leadership, coaching, and development of Relationship Managers
• Execution of segment strategy and business priorities
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, deep corporate banking expertise and the ability to build and lead a high-performing team while delivering sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Team Leadership & Talent Development
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Relationship Managers to achieve business and client objectives.
• Drive a high-performance culture with strong accountability, collaboration, and client focus.
• Provide ongoing coaching on client engagement, deal origination, portfolio management, and credit structuring.
• Client Franchise & Relationship Management
• Oversee and deepen relationships with a portfolio of Midcap corporate clients across priority industries.
• Support RMs in originating new-to-bank relationships and growing existing client share of wallet.
• Engage senior client stakeholders on strategic discussions, financing needs, and business opportunities.
• Drive holistic client coverage through coordinated delivery of lending, transaction banking, treasury, and capital markets solutions.
• Enhance DBS' market position and visibility within the designated client segment.
• Revenue Growth & Business Performance
• Deliver portfolio revenue, asset, liability, and fee income targets.
• Drive new business acquisition and expansion opportunities across the client base.
• Champion cross-selling and product penetration by partnering closely with product, treasury, trade, and investment banking teams.
• Ensure robust pipeline management and disciplined deal execution.
• Identify sector trends, emerging opportunities, and growth adjacencies to support franchise expansion.
• Risk & Portfolio Management
• Maintain overall portfolio quality through proactive credit and risk management.
• Review and guide credit structuring, ensuring appropriate risk-return outcomes.
• Monitor portfolio performance, asset quality, and early warning indicators.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
• Partner closely with Risk Management to achieve balanced business growth and sound risk practices.
• Strategic Execution & Stakeholder Management
• Execute segment strategies and business initiatives aligned with IBG objectives.
• Collaborate with product partners, Risk, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and senior stakeholders to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Leverage market intelligence and industry insights to identify opportunities and inform business decisions.
• Drive transformation initiatives, process improvements, and productivity enhancements within the team.
Requirements
• Minimum 12 to 15 years of corporate banking experience, with significant exposure to Midcap or Corporate Banking coverage.
• Proven track record in:
• Client acquisition and relationship management
• Revenue growth and portfolio management
• Credit assessment and risk management
• Leading and developing high-performing teams
• Strong understanding of corporate banking products, including lending, transaction banking, treasury and Trade finance and Trade structuring and knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and lead strategic client engagements.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and influencing skills.
• Results-oriented, commercially astute, and able to operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Experience leading teams of Relationship Managers within a corporate or commercial banking environment.
• Strong industry network and market knowledge within Midcap corporate segments.
• Prior coverage experience in Agriculture and Commodities sector will be an advantage.
• Ability to balance business growth objectives with disciplined risk management and governance standards.
