Role profile:

As part of our Markets Operations and Controls team, you will act as a critical enabler to the COO by driving business performance, governance, and execution discipline across Markets Operations & Controls. The role combines strategic insight, financial management, and operational delivery, ensuring the function operates with clarity, rigour, and alignment to LSEG’s broader objectives.

Operating at pace and with high visibility, the Business Manager is expected to demonstrate ownership, judgement, and influence, supporting senior decision-making and ensuring consistent, high-quality outputs.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

COO Office Support & Governance

• Act as a trusted advisor and right-hand to the COO, supporting day-to-day management of the function
• Drive coordination of priorities, ensuring alignment across teams and delivery against strategic objectives
• Manage governance rhythms
• Track actions, risks, and dependencies to ensure accountability and execution discipline

Executive Reporting & Communications

• In conjunction with the COO, own the production of high-quality executive materials, with clear, concise, and impactful narratives tailored for senior audiences
• Ensure consistency of narrative across all communications, aligned to strategic priorities
• Continuously improve format, content, and storytelling of management information

• Prepare briefing packs, talking points, and agendas
• Key role in building the Markets Operations and Control brand and community, management of engage community, newsletter, and other communication mechanisms.

Financial Management & Oversight

• Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for Markets Operations & Controls
• Provide clear insights on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
• Ensure strong cost discipline, notably creating and embedding processes to support functional spend oversight i.e. T&E

Operational Discipline & Business Management

• Establish and maintain cadence of leadership meetings, steercos, and reviews
• Track actions and ensure accountability across leadership team
• Develop and maintain consistency in KPIs, MI, and performance reporting across the function. Drive discipline in management information (MI) and reporting standards
• Support workforce planning, location strategy, and organisational design activities

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Experience in a Business Manager / COO Office / Strategy / Operations role within financial services
• Deep understanding of Markets and/or Operations environments
• Proven ability to produce high-quality executive-level materials and messaging
• Strong financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, cost management)
•  Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
•  Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical capability with ability to translate data into insights
• Proactive, trusted, and able to operate with discretion and judgement at senior levels
