## About the Role
We're the authors of "Let's Take This Offline (and Other Tech Atrocities in Rhyme)," a satirical poetry book roasting Big Tech and corporate culture. The book is independently published and available on Amazon and through IngramSpark. https://letstakethisoffline.xyz/
We're looking for someone to reach out to independent bookstores, tell them about the book, and get them to stock a few copies on their shelves. When a store agrees, the copies are simply ordered through Amazon or IngramSpark — both are straightforward, and we'll help you get set up and walk you through how it works. We already have a list of about 500 bookstores to start with, so you won't be starting from scratch. We need a sharp, reliable, well-organized person to run the outreach and keep it moving. This is a great fit for a current student or recent grad who's a strong writer, comfortable with email and basic spreadsheets, and happy to use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to work faster.
## Responsibilities
- Email independent bookstores to introduce the book and ask them to stock a few copies
- Personalize outreach and send timely, friendly follow-ups
- Answer basic questions about pricing, ordering, and how to get copies (via Amazon or IngramSpark — we'll show you)
- Track every contact, reply, and outcome in a shared spreadsheet
- Help a willing store place its order and follow through to the sale
- Report progress weekly (stores contacted, replies, stores that agreed to stock)
## Requirements
- No formal experience required — this is an entry-level, learn-as-you-go role
- Excellent written English and a warm, professional email tone
- Organized and self-directed; can manage a list and follow up without being chased
- Comfortable with email, Google Sheets/Excel, and using AI tools to draft and speed up work
- Current students and recent graduates encouraged to apply
## Nice to Have
- Any real experience in the publishing or book world — selling at a bookstore, working in publishing, or having written/published a book yourself
## How to Apply
Send a short note about why you'd be good at this, plus a one-paragraph sample email you'd write to a bookstore pitching our book.
