## About the role Billing looks simple. It isn't. On the surface, it's "send an invoice, collect money." Then reality shows up: usage-based pricing with committed minimums, quarterly true-ups, mid-cycle plan changes with prorated credits across multiple currencies, and revenue recognition that stands up to ASC 606 audits. Every edge case creates two more. "Correct" depends on contract language written by lawyers who've never seen a database schema. A small modeling mistake today becomes a painful migration six months later. This is the kind of problem space we find interesting. ## The 1 → 10 Journey We've built the foundation. Product–market fit exists. Customers are live, running real money, real contracts, and real compliance through the system. Now comes the hard part: scaling without breaking what works. This is the 1 → 10 phase—where early architectural decisions compound, hiring mistakes are expensive, and the right people have disproportionate impact. You won't inherit a playbook. You'll help write it. ## The Role We're looking for a Product Manager who's ready to take ownership of key product areas and drive meaningful impact from day one. You'll be the voice of the customer internally and the face of the product externally, shaping both product strategy and day-to-day execution. This is a high-ownership, cross-functional role — you'll work closely with customers, engineering, design, and leadership to deliver value fast while laying the foundation for scalable product processes. If you're someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and loves solving hard problems with structure, you'll feel right at home here. ## What You'll Do ### Customer Engagement & Strategy - Engage directly with customers to uncover pain points, validate ideas, and translate feedback into product direction. - Triage and prioritise customer feature requests across product areas, balancing impact, feasibility, and scalability. - Build clear, actionable PRDs and partner with design and engineering to turn ideas into shipped features. - Own and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company strategy and customer outcomes. ### Product Execution & Delivery - Drive product cycles end-to-end — from ideation through delivery — ensuring timely launches with measurable results. - Partner with engineering to make trade-offs and scope intelligently without compromising on impact. - Write crisp, user-facing release notes and internal updates that clearly communicate value. - Support customer success and sales with product expertise during implementations or escalations. ### Documentation & Enablement - Keep public documentation intuitive and current to make the product self-serve and accessible. - Create internal enablement materials that help GTM teams articulate value and stay aligned on roadmap changes. ### Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with design and marketing to deliver seamless product experiences and GTM launches. - Build a working knowledge of technical systems — APIs, data warehouses, integrations — to bridge business and engineering. ## What Success Looks Like ### In 3 months - Deep understanding of Zenskar's product, customers, and competitive landscape. - Built trust with engineering, design, and CS teams. - Shipped your first customer-driven feature. ### In 6 months - Owning end-to-end delivery for a product area. - Translating insights from customer calls and data into roadmap priorities. - Driving measurable improvements in adoption or satisfaction. ### In 12 months - Acting as a strategic partner to product leadership. - Mentoring newer PMs and contributing to org-wide product thinking. - Delivering product initiatives that drive revenue, retention, or operational efficiency. ## Key qualifications - 3+ years of product management experience in a B2B SaaS or technology company, with clear evidence of owning outcomes — not just shipping features - Has driven product areas or complex initiatives end-to-end — from problem identification through delivery, measurement, and iteration - Strong product thinking: you can decompose ambiguous problems, identify the highest-leverage intervention, and scope solutions that balance speed with quality - Deep customer empathy paired with commercial awareness — you understand that product decisions have revenue, retention, and expansion consequences - Data-fluent: you can define metrics, pull insights, design experiments, and course-correct fast when the numbers shift. Comfortable with imperfect information - Excellent written and verbal communication — you can write a crisp spec, run a tight review, and influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams - Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where you're building the playbook, not following one - Experience with billing, fintech, subscription management, or revenue systems is a strong plus. Complex domain experience signals you can ramp fast on Zenskar's problem space ## Nice to Have - Experience with financial systems, billing platforms, or fintech applications - Knowledge of SaaS business models and compliance frameworks - API design and integration experience - Prior experience working at a startup - Not taking yourself too seriously :) ## Location - Hybrid - 2 days per week - Office Location: Indiranagar, Bengaluru. - Address: 3rd Floor, A wing No 1, Carlton Towers, HAL Old Airport Rd, HAL 2nd Stage, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560008. ## Interview Process Our interview process is structured and efficient. - R0 – Recruiter Screening: Quick conversation to assess fit, experience depth, and role expectations. - R1 – Introductory Call: Discussion on your background, product philosophy, and why Zenskar. We recommend reviewing the job description & Apurv's recorded videos before this step. - R2 – Case / Assignment Discussion: Deep-dive into your product thinking, trade-offs, and execution approach. - Final Round: Conversation with leadership.
