Requirements:
We require a bachelors degree in an engineering discipline with at least 9 years of relevant experience developing real-time embedded software in C or C++. We accept a graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of closely related experience. In lieu of a degree, we require at least 13 years of prior relevant experience. We expect experience leading collaborative software design, development, and test teams. We expect hands-on experience with digital signal processing, embedded C++/C, and MATLAB. We prefer experience with Agile Scrum and DevOps-oriented software development. We prefer experience in engineering requirements analysis, development, and verification. We require the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Additional advantages include experience developing and implementing DSP algorithms. Additional advantages include experience simulating and analyzing DSP algorithms. Additional advantages include the ability to interpret hardware schematics, circuit layouts, and datasheets. Additional advantages include proficiency with multi-threaded, multi-core design and/or real-time operating systems. Additional advantages include experience across the full software development life cycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, unit testing, and automation tools. Additional advantages include familiarity with Agile development practices using iterative, time-boxed Scrum processes. Responsibilities:
We research, design, develop, modify, and evaluate embedded software for electronic and communications systems alongside hardware development. We lead and contribute to the assigned portion of the full product development cycle within an Agile Scrum environment. We perform detailed technical analysis, including requirements review, use-case modeling, conceptual design, trade studies, testing, operations, maintenance, and reliability assessment for radio communications products and related systems. We collaborate with test, manufacturing, product management, program management, and other stakeholders to define and deliver high-quality radio products. We translate customer needs, including informal inputs, into complete systems solutions that balance technical, schedule, and cost constraints. We work with electrical engineers and other specialists to assess hardware-software interfaces and overall operational performance requirements. We develop software test procedures and design documentation. We communicate technical topics clearly and logically with strong interpersonal effectiveness. We stay current with advances in DSP technology and apply new methods and techniques. We contribute to the strategic direction of DSP solutions and look for opportunities to improve and innovate. We work closely with an Agile team of experienced software engineers on innovative real-time signal processing projects. We need to be able to obtain U.S. security clearance.
