Lead Software Engineer - Payments

Salary: $120,000 - 180,000 per year
Requirements:
We require a bachelors degree with 8 years of experience in technical roles such as application development, server administration, information security, or engineering, or a high school diploma/GED with 12 years of equivalent experience. We need at least 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud engineering and architecture. We expect proven experience designing, building, and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS. We require strong expertise with AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, AWS Step Functions, Amazon SQS and SNS, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RDS, AWS IAM and KMS, and AWS Transfer Family. We need solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices. We look for experience designing and implementing event-driven, microservices, and serverless architectures. We require strong hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and/or Node.js. We need experience with containerization tools such as Docker and OpenShift. We expect experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment approaches. We require the ability to build highly available, fault-tolerant, secure, and scalable enterprise solutions. We look for proven experience leading development teams and guiding technical architecture decisions. We require excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. Preferred qualifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer Associate, experience with payment processing or money movement platforms, financial systems integrations and regulatory reporting, observability tools such as CloudWatch and X-Ray, cloud modernization initiatives, and work in regulated financial services environments.
Responsibilities:
We lead all software engineering activities for the team, including architecture, design, development, testing, releases, and production support. We translate business needs into technical solutions and provide architectural direction. We design, develop, integrate, and support secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions across payments, money movement, and information reporting platforms. We develop hands-on code and contribute to implementation work. We mentor distributed teams and help drive delivery in a fast-paced environment. We balance immediate business priorities with long-term architectural strategy while maintaining reliability, security, and operational excellence.
