Requirements:
We require an active Secret clearance; TS/SCI is preferred. We need at least seven years of experience supporting IT systems engineering for a DoD or government agency. We require at least four years of experience supporting DoD afloat network systems such as CANES, ADNS, ISNS, CENTRIXS, SCI Networks, SUBLAN, or COMPOSE. We need at least six years of experience engineering solutions for technologies such as Cisco switches, Cisco firewalls, and Cisco ISE. We require a bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science from an accredited university. We require an active CCNA certification; CCNP is preferred. We need three or more years of experience creating technical documentation. We look for a proven record of client-facing work that involves stakeholder engagement and relationship building across Navy, DoD, or federal programs. We require experience with SDN/SD-WAN technologies and vendors such as VMware, NSX-T, Cisco, Juniper, and open-source platforms. We need experience configuring L2/L3 switches, routers, and security appliances such as firewalls, NIDS, and NIPS. We require experience developing and documenting network topologies. We need experience troubleshooting and recovering from network and system outages. We require experience working with virtualization technologies. Preferred qualifications include experience with RF communications, especially MILSATCOM or COMSATCOM. Preferred qualifications include experience using NetDevOps or DevSecOps to scale enterprise engineering efforts. Preferred qualifications include network automation experience with Python, Ansible, NETCONF, and/or RESTCONF. Preferred qualifications include modeling network configurations in JSON, YAML, or Jinja. Preferred qualifications include experience advancing complex collaborative networking initiatives while working independently.
Responsibilities:
We design and implement Navy Tactical Networks. We develop network topologies and templates based on system requirements. We create IP address plans. We prepare detailed test plans and supporting documentation. We configure and document SD-WAN solutions to support secure, reliable, and scalable performance. We translate technical requirements into practical, well-documented network designs. We support networking projects by building solutions that align with operational and client needs.
