Hardware Engineer (PCB, Wireless)
Salary: $80,000 - 120,000 per year
Requirements:
We require a bachelors degree in engineering. We require at least 3 years of hardware design experience. We require 3 years of hands-on experience with circuit design and ECAD. We require 2–3 years of experience in wireless or embedded development. Preferred qualifications include experience with Altium Designer. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with emissions standards such as FCC, IC, ETSI, Anatel, or ACMA. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of communication interfaces and protocols such as Ethernet, USB, I2C, and SPI. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with safety standards such as EN62368-1 and EN6095-1. Preferred qualifications include understanding of EMC and environmental requirements for CE Mark certification of telecommunications products. Preferred qualifications include the ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced engineering setting. Preferred qualifications include the ability to solder and desolder surface-mount and through-hole components using a soldering station and heat gun. Preferred qualifications include experience using signal generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. Preferred qualifications include the ability to collaborate with an international development team. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with MCU, SoC, and modem integration for 4G LTE, 5G, and WiFi technologies. Preferred qualifications include proven ability to work independently while also partnering with a team to resolve technical issues. Preferred qualifications include the ability to prepare hardware design specifications and related design documentation. Preferred qualifications include strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
We design schematic and PCB layouts that include digital, analog, and RF circuitry. We create new components and maintain the ECAD component database. We support the hardware development of industrial-grade communications equipment using electrical engineering, circuit design, and analysis principles. We analyze and design digital and mixed-signal communications circuitry, including MCU, CPU, flash, Ethernet, and USB, while accounting for EMC, thermal, mechanical, and electrical safety constraints. We prepare production documentation, including top-level bills of material and label specifications. We work onsite with Electrical and Embedded Firmware Engineers in an office and laboratory environment. We perform and document circuit-level validation testing. We help ensure compliance with product safety, emissions, and performance standards, including support for third-party certification labs as needed. We troubleshoot and resolve existing product design issues reported by customers and manufacturing. We calculate MTBF and reliability data for individual product subsystems. We provide support and specifications to Manufacturing and Test Engineering teams.
