Epic Senior Systems Analyst - IP Orders
Salary: $98,000 - 138,000 per year
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline. 5–7 years of system analysis and support experience in a healthcare setting, or 10+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Hands-on experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows, including clinical, revenue cycle, or IT exposure. Strong skills in requirements elicitation, workflow design, testing, and solution documentation. Working knowledge of ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and waterfall/agile project methods. Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and operational stakeholders and produce clear documentation. Proven experience leading complex initiatives and cross-functional teams. For the Application Training focus: Epic Training Environment Build certification with 3+ years of experience, plus two Epic Application Principal Trainer certifications. For the Application Build focus: current Epic certification or proficiency in one or more relevant modules, such as HB, PB, Cadence, Referrals, Orders, ClinDoc, or Clarity. For the Application Build focus: 3+ years of Epic build and configuration experience. For the Application Build focus: experience in system integration, HL7, FHIR, and interface testing. For the Application Build focus: exposure to SQL, Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, or reporting tools such as Radar or Reporting Workbench. Preferred: leadership or supervisory experience, healthcare compliance knowledge, cloud platform familiarity, business intelligence experience, and advanced education in a related field.
Responsibilities:
Partner with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, map current workflows, and design Epic solutions aligned with operational and policy goals. Produce and maintain specifications, decision logs, and design documentation to support traceability and change control. Perform gap analyses to identify configuration or process changes needed for upgrades, regulatory updates, or new initiatives. Manage smaller implementation and upgrade projects using appropriate project management methods. Create and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and support activities. Mentor junior analysts and share best practices. Configure records, master files, profiles, rules, security classes, and workflows according to approved designs. Maintain build consistency across environments and follow change management and naming standards. Plan and run unit, integration, and UAT testing, resolve defects, and document test evidence. Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, and downstream workflows, including regression coverage during upgrades. Coordinate releases, environment migrations, downtime activities, and go-live/post-go-live support. Handle service requests and incidents promptly, triage issues, identify root causes, and meet service level expectations. Provide advanced support for Epic, Workday, Kronos, and related applications, collaborating across IT and clinical teams. Work with interface teams on HL7, FHIR, PDFs, CCD/CCDA, and other data exchange processes. Partner with analytics teams on Clarity/Caboodle extracts, registries, and operational reporting needs. Protect data integrity and keep metric definitions consistent across modules and stakeholders. Support regulatory readiness, audit requirements, policy alignment, and privacy/security controls. Contribute to ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and configuration management practices. Design, implement, and continuously improve role-based training programs and the CareConnect curriculum. Oversee training environment readiness, curriculum governance, and release communication. Manage training-related requests and incidents, prioritize and resolve them, and document outcomes in the knowledge base. Analyze support trends and work with partners to implement preventive improvements and enhance the user experience.
