Digital and data roles
Role Overview:
We live in a world where digital technology is more important than ever. At the Office for National Statistics (ONS), we want to make it as easy as possible for people to interact with our data and analysis. To help us do this, we employ the best people to create, develop and support our innovative digital solutions.
Government Digital and Data at the ONS:
From data analysts and software developers to test engineers and network architects, our teams make sure the ONS continues to improve lives through data. You could be building the surveys that gather and process data or helping to analyse and publish it, so that we can understand what it’s telling us. You might be providing support at one of our tech bars, making sure everyone has the right equipment and software to do their jobs well.
Government Digital and Data in the Civil Service:
Government Digital and Data experts in the Civil Service make a difference to the millions of people who use government services every day. Our roles fit into six groups. These include:
- data roles
- IT operations roles
- product and delivery roles
- quality assurance testing (QAT) roles
- technical development roles
- user-centred design roles
What We Offer:
Learning and development in digital and data: At the ONS, you can set time aside to support your own learning and development. It’s up to you how you use the time. You could complete a qualification or training course, learn a new skill or improve one you already have. You can also join our Communities of Practice, where people in similar roles share the latest innovations, knowledge and learning opportunities.
