Operational delivery roles
Role Overview:
The Operational Delivery Profession (ODP) is the largest profession in the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and across government. As a member of the ODP, you will help to make government policies, strategies and plans a reality. You will do this by delivering important services and outputs directly to the public or supporting those who do. ODP is critical to the successful delivery of services and support to people across the UK and abroad.
Responsibilities:
Operational delivery at the ONS involves supporting important work through various roles. You could be part of the field community, working across the UK, or one of the business support professionals in each of the directorates in the ONS. As part of the acquisitions and ingest teams, you will help to bring in new sources of data for analysts and survey teams.
Learning and Development:
At the ONS, skills in operational delivery are developed through learning, on-the-job training, mentoring, formal training, and apprenticeships. This is supported by cross-government ODP profession learning pathways and opportunities. Apprenticeships are available for those looking to start a new career, offering an opportunity to earn and learn at the same time while working alongside experienced staff.
