Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of underwriting supervisors or team leads; Hold direct reports accountable to team performance targets including throughput, quality, and turnaround time; Establish consistent standards, workflows, and expectations across teams; Serve as the escalation point for complex or exception decisions; Partner with Credit and Risk to ensure underwriting policy is correctly applied; Translate organizational priorities into operational plans; Own workforce planning for the underwriting function; Drive cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, Compliance, and Product; Develop and report on a scorecard of underwriting performance metrics; Play an active role in hiring and developing supervisory talent
