We are looking for a talented and driven Business Development Manager to join the New Business Development Office, supporting the acceleration of new strategic initiatives that contribute to ING’s growth ambition. Working within a dynamic, cross-functional environment, the Business Development Manager plays a key role in shaping, validating, and preparing initiatives for implementation. Partnering closely with Business Leads, Tribes, and expert contributors across the organization, this role ensures initiatives are co-developed collaboratively, aligned with ING’s strategic direction, and supported by strong governance and delivery readiness. The Business Development Manager supports the development and execution of strategic initiatives within the New Business Development Office. Reporting to the Head of New Business Development, this role contributes to shaping initiatives, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring delivery readiness.

Your key responsibilities

As a Head of New Business Development, you will:

  • Co-lead workstreams under the guidance of the Head of New Business Development.
  • Conduct market and internal research to support initiative framing.
  • Prepare strategic materials for ExCo, SteerCo, and governance forums.
  • Track initiative progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate with part-time contributors from Tribe Sponsor, Risk, Tech, COO, Legal, People, and Finance.
  • Maintain initiative dashboards and documentation.

Leadership / personal competencies

  • Digital experience: Mandatory.
  • Project leadership: Highly valued, especially in complex, tech-enabled implementations.
  • International experience: Valued.

Previous Experience

  • Minimum 6 years in strategy, business development, consulting, or product leadership.
  • Experience in Retail and/or Business Banking.
  • Digital business is highly valuable.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and navigate complex organizations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or MBA preferred.

Languages

  • Spanish and English proficiency.
