## About the role We're turning fund formation from a manual legal process into an executable software system. We're looking for a founding Member of Technical Staff to help build the core platform: document ingestion, compliance graphs, drafting pipelines, and workflow orchestration. This is an early, equity-only role. You'll work directly with the founder and shape both product and architecture from day one. ## What you'll do - Build ingestion → drafting → verification pipelines for fund formation - Implement compliance logic as software (not checklists) - Design document systems and workflow orchestration - Work hands-on with LLMs in production environments - Partner with Legal Systems Research to turn doctrine into code - Follow SwiftLaw's security and data-handling practices when working with client matters - Ship fast in a zero-to-one environment ## What we're looking for - Strong backend + product engineering instincts - Experience with LLM systems, agents, or applied ML - Comfort operating in ambiguity - Taste for clean abstractions and simple systems - Founder-level ownership mindset ## Security and compliance responsibilities SwiftLaw handles confidential legal and financial information for institutional clients. Every engineer on our team is responsible for: - Following SwiftLaw's access control and credential management procedures - Handling client data in accordance with our data classification and retention policies - Participating in annual security awareness training - Reporting security events or suspected incidents to the Founder promptly - Supporting SOC 2 audit readiness (access reviews, evidence collection, control adherence) ## Nice to have Prior legal tech experience is not required.
