ETL Engineer - Java Spring Batch
Salary: $108,160 - 118,560 per year
Requirements:
We need at least 6 years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on Java and Spring Batch. We need extensive hands-on experience building enterprise ETL or batch processing applications. We need experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and Artifactory to support release workflows. We need experience with cloud technologies, ideally AWS, including ECS, ECR, EC2, and related cloud-native services. We need solid SQL and relational database experience. We need experience analyzing and migrating legacy ETL solutions, with Informatica experience preferred. We need a strong understanding of data integration, data quality, and reconciliation practices. We need experience working in Agile delivery environments. We need strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. We need experience in the financial services industry. Preferred: We value Python-based ETL development experience. Preferred: We value familiarity with GitHub Copilot or other generative AI development tools. Preferred: We value experience modernizing legacy data platforms and leading large-scale migration efforts. Preferred: We value knowledge of enterprise scheduling and orchestration tools. Preferred: We value experience with cloud-based data processing platforms.
Responsibilities:
We analyze existing Informatica workflows and ETL processes to understand the underlying business logic and data transformations. We design, develop, and enhance Java Spring Batch applications that support enterprise-scale ETL processing. We convert legacy ETL workflows into modern, maintainable batch-processing solutions. We build reliable data transformation, validation, and reconciliation logic to help ensure data accuracy. We work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and application teams to define migration needs. We use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot or similar solutions, to boost productivity and speed up analysis. We troubleshoot batch-processing issues and tune performance for high-volume data workloads. We participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, and production support activities. We prepare technical documentation covering ETL workflows, data mappings, and migration strategies.
