Hardware Engineer
Salary: $79,000 - 135,000 per year
Requirements:
We require an active Secret clearance, with the ability to qualify for Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information access. We require U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain clearance eligibility. We are looking for experience across the embedded hardware product lifecycle, including design, testing, and integration. We need proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, such as Altium. We expect experience writing embedded firmware for microprocessors. We prefer familiarity with containerization tools and platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes. A bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or a related discipline is required; a masters degree is preferred. We value strong independent work habits, clear written and verbal communication, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and adaptability to shifting workloads. We work primarily in an office/lab environment, and minimal travel is expected. The role may occasionally require lifting up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
We evaluate, analyze, and develop systems that combine hardware, software, and interconnected infrastructure to support operational needs. We translate high-level requirements into integrated engineering solutions. We perform trade-off studies to support technical decisions, including risk, cost, and benefit analyses. We design and integrate custom electrical circuits and robust mechanical packaging. We develop bare-metal C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers using a test-driven approach. We manage code and configuration through GitLab. We may also develop full-stack applications using SQL, C++ services, React, and Next.js. We carry out developmental testing and evaluate solutions for performance and suitability. We maintain program configuration management and documentation standards. We support in-house full lifecycle design, development, and testing of microelectronics and custom embedded systems. We work in rapid development cycles that require adaptability and a balance of speed and technical rigor.
