Requirements:
Bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is required; a masters degree in a similar field is a plus At least 8 years of relevant experience is required, ideally in medical device development Strong working knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines, including product development, testing, modeling, and process engineering Familiarity with vascular anatomy and clinical procedures in coronary, peripheral, or neurological applications is beneficial Ability to independently apply process and design selection methodologies Strong capability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to varied audiences Demonstrated creativity in applying engineering principles to solve challenging problems Ability to make data-informed decisions using statistical tools such as DOE, tolerance stack-up analysis, or Minitab Excellent independent problem-solving skills, with a willingness to coach others in this area Experience with new technology development Ability to build plans for resolving complex technical issues and guide others toward solutions Track record of coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to customers Established cross-functional relationships and ability to influence outcomes Strong commitment to continuous improvement and driving organizational change
Responsibilities:
Partner with the project manager to create the technical execution plan and key deliverables Lead and carry out design and development activities within the internal team Confidently manage customer interactions related to technical deliverables Drive concept generation efforts using strong technical problem-solving skills Mentor engineers on technical analysis of designs, concepts, and supporting research Oversee documentation practices for requirements, design outputs, verification, and testing within the clients and/or customers QMS Communicate complex information clearly and concisely to customers, teammates, and other stakeholders Support and mentor less experienced engineers throughout the project lifecycle Facilitate technical decision-making on matters such as vendor selection, critical-to-quality factors, and concept selection Lead design and development work on a full medical device development program, including concept generation, requirements development, prototyping, 3D modeling, 2D drawing creation, and concept evaluation Bring experience leading complex catheter development projects from concept through production
