Requirements:

We need 7+ years of professional Java application development experience. We need 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining custom Appian plugins. We need 3+ years of experience modernizing or refactoring legacy application components for cloud environments. We need 3+ years of experience designing secure integration patterns using RESTful APIs. We need 3+ years of experience implementing and configuring modern logging frameworks such as Log4j2 or SLF4J. We need 3+ years of experience supporting deployments across development, testing, and production environments. We need 3+ years of experience working in multi-team agile or hybrid delivery environments. We need the ability to ship as required. We need the ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance. Preferred: experience supporting Appian Cloud migration initiatives. Preferred: demonstrated ability to assess technical debt and execute structured remediation plans. Preferred: Appian Certified Developer credential, with Senior or Lead preferred. Preferred: experience supporting financial services or highly regulated enterprise clients. Preferred: familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and secure code scanning practices. Preferred: experience supporting production cutover and stabilization efforts. Preferred: Agile certification such as Scrum, SAFe, or similar.
Responsibilities:
We refactor custom Appian plugins to remove filesystem, database, and logging dependencies that are not compatible with Appian Cloud. We redesign and modernize plugin components to use supported Appian APIs and cloud-compliant integration patterns. We validate the compatibility of custom and AppMarket plugins in Appian Cloud environments. We assess and fix configuration or deployment gaps uncovered during plugin validation. We implement secure, centralized logging approaches that align with cloud deployment standards. We package and deploy updated plugins across development, testing, and production environments. We support regression testing for dependent Appian applications affected by plugin updates. We troubleshoot and resolve defects tied to plugin behavior, integrations, or environmental differences. We collaborate with Appian Developers to remediate application objects and integrations impacted by cloud migration. We partner with DBAs to ensure plugin changes align with data migration and validation activities. We participate in structured migration governance, including technical documentation, status reporting, and risk tracking. We contribute to production cutover preparation, rollback validation planning, and post-migration stabilization. We document refactor strategies, compatibility findings, deployment steps, and definitions of done. We operate within a defined delivery cadence while maintaining accountability for milestones and technical quality.
