Responsibilities
Assess existing Netezza environments including schemas, tables, and workloads; develop migration plans for moving Netezza data warehouse workloads to Azure; analyze Netezza-specific architecture including distribution keys and data skew; convert Netezza SQL, DDL, views, and stored procedures into Azure-compatible SQL or modernized ELT patterns; design and execute data extraction, staging, loading, reconciliation, and validation processes; build or support migration pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, or Databricks; validate migrated data using row counts, checksums, and business-rule checks; tune performance in the Azure target environment including distribution strategy and query optimization; partner with architects, DBAs, and client stakeholders to surface migration risks; support test cycles, production cutover, rollback planning, and post-migration stabilization; document the migration approach, technical decisions, and operational handoff materials
