Computer Engineer - Dahlgren

Salary: $79,000 - 135,000 per year
Requirements:
We require an active Secret clearance, with the ability to qualify for Top Secret and Sensitive Compartmented Information access. We require U.S. citizenship to obtain the necessary clearance. We seek experience across the embedded hardware lifecycle, including design, testing, and integration. We require proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium. We require experience developing embedded firmware for microprocessors. We value hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. We prefer a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or a related discipline; a masters degree is preferred. We value strong independent work habits, clear written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and adaptability to changing workloads. We prefer candidates who can work primarily in an office or lab environment and periodically lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
We evaluate, analyze, and develop systems that combine hardware, software, and interconnected infrastructure to support operational needs. We translate high-level requirements into integrated engineering designs. We perform trade-off studies to guide technical decisions such as microprocessor selection. We design and integrate custom electrical circuits and robust mechanical packaging. We develop bare-metal C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers using test-driven development. We manage source code and configuration through GitLab. We may also develop full-stack applications involving SQL, C++ services, and React/Next.js. We conduct developmental testing and assess solution performance. We follow program configuration management and documentation standards. We deliver in-house full lifecycle design, development, and testing of microelectronics and custom embedded systems. We work in rapid development cycles while balancing aggressive schedules with technical rigor.
