Requirements:
We require 3+ years of experience in data center engineering or operations. We need proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. We require knowledge of network design and layout, as well as low-voltage copper and fiber cabling. We require an active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with polygraph. We prefer a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline. We prefer familiarity with IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF, and related routing and switching technologies. We prefer a solid understanding of the major components and subsystems of data center infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
We clearly communicate project status and blockers to leadership and project management. We perform device build and cabling validation work. We manage cabling vendor activities and carry out quality assurance tasks. We support network engineering deployments during scheduled change windows, including migrations, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware. We complete customer requests through the Remedy ticketing system. We troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low-level application interactions. We deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes. We manage work and priorities through ticketing workflows and collaborate with stakeholders to remove project blockers. We travel within our work area as needed, with up to 40% travel outside the traditional area, potentially including international travel. We attend meetings, execute change management activities in the data center, deploy hardware, connect cabling, update tickets, and work with peers across AWS to improve how we serve customers.
