Computer Engineer - La Plata
Salary: $79,000 - 135,000 per year
Requirements:
We require a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or a related discipline; a masters degree is preferred. We look for hands-on experience across the embedded hardware product lifecycle, including design, testing, and integration. We need proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, such as Altium. We require experience developing embedded firmware for microprocessors. We value familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. We seek strong independent work habits, clear cross-functional communication, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to adapt to changing workloads. We require an active Secret clearance, with the ability to qualify for Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information access. We require U.S. citizenship to obtain the necessary clearance.
Responsibilities:
We translate high-level needs into integrated engineering solutions. We perform technical trade-off analyses, including risk, cost, and benefit evaluations for key design decisions. We design and integrate custom electrical circuits and durable mechanical packaging. We develop bare-metal C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers using test-driven development. We manage source code and configuration control through GitLab. We conduct developmental testing and evaluate proposed solutions. We follow program configuration management and documentation standards. We may also contribute to full-stack development work, including SQL, C++ services, and React/Next.js applications.
