IT Applications Manager - LIS Implementation & Support
Salary: $179,000 - 219,000 per year
Requirements:
We are looking for 6 to 10+ years of experience in LIS systems, healthcare IT, clinical applications, or laboratory operations technology. We need 2 to 5+ years of leadership, supervisory, team management, or major workstream leadership experience. We require a strong grasp of Clinical Pathology LIS workflows, including specimen processing, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, instrument interfaces, middleware, autoverification, and result routing. We expect experience leading or supporting medium- to large-scale implementations, upgrades, go-live events, command center operations, hypercare, production support, and stabilization efforts. We value working knowledge of application support models, incident management, problem resolution, issue escalation, testing, validation, and transition-to-support processes. We require familiarity with healthcare or laboratory regulatory and compliance frameworks, including CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, and validation/documentation expectations. We need the ability to coordinate effectively across technical, operational, vendor, compliance, billing, and leadership stakeholders. We are looking for strong communication, prioritization, coaching, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, decision-making, and operational leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
We lead implementation delivery and production support operations for CP LIS applications and workflows. We oversee Application Support and Implementation teams, including workload prioritization, resource planning, coverage management, and service performance. We own end-to-end implementation execution, from planning and workflow readiness through testing, validation support, cutover, go-live command center operations, hypercare, and transition into steady-state support. We ensure Level 1 and Level 2 support provides timely intake, triage, user communication, incident handling, routine issue resolution, and escalation readiness. We coordinate Level 3 and Level 4 escalation paths with implementation analysts, configuration, integration, infrastructure, middleware, vendors, and other technical teams. We partner with LIS Configuration & Build teams on required configuration elements such as rules, test catalogs, provider and clinic setup, workflow configuration, validation evidence, and release readiness. We ensure LIS solutions align with CP workflows, including specimen processing, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, molecular workflows, send-outs/reference testing, instrument-connected workflows, middleware, autoverification, and result routing. We coordinate integration and dependency management across laboratory instruments, middleware, automation lines, EMR and result delivery platforms, billing systems, and downstream reporting tools. We monitor operational performance, issue trends, root-cause findings, defect patterns, backlog, go-live risks, and stabilization outcomes. We drive ongoing improvement in support processes, implementation methods, documentation quality, escalation models, and knowledge management. We collaborate with Operations, QA/Compliance, Billing/RCM, IT Infrastructure, Integration, vendors, and enterprise leadership to resolve issues and support successful delivery. We ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, internal change control, validation, release management, and documentation standards. We provide leadership, coaching, performance management, role clarity, capacity planning, and professional development for team members. We communicate status, risks, dependencies, decisions, and operational impact to IT Laboratory Operations leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
