Postdoctoral Research Position in Plant Diversity and Evolution (M/F) 0601
Role Overview:
To strengthen our research team, we are opening a Postdoctoral Research Position at the Department of Plant Diversity and Evolution of the Institute of Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Průhonice. We are looking for a colleague (M/F) interested in diploid and polyploid plants.
Responsibilities:
The position involves working with diploid and polyploid plants, conducting plant experiments, performing fieldwork, and collecting data in flora or vegetation. The role requires working independently in the field, reliably following protocols, handling samples, and executing basic laboratory workflows. Additionally, the researcher will be responsible for data digitization, quality control, working with structured datasets, and performing statistical analyses and reporting.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education: Ph.D. or equivalent in botany (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Experience with plant experiments, fieldwork, and data collection in flora or vegetation.
- Skills: Ability to work independently in the field and reliably follow protocols; experience with sample handling and basic laboratory workflows.
- Data Skills: Strong data skills including digitization, quality control, and working with structured datasets; competence in MS Excel and Access for statistical analyses and reporting.
- Soft Skills: Teamwork and communication skills; ability to collaborate in English; careful, responsible approach to equipment and data integrity.
- Language: English.
