Forward Deployed Engineer, DACH

Munich💼 Full-time🗓 2026-08-01

About the Role

We're a fast-growing, Y Combinator-backed startup building an agentic operating system for enterprises — enabling large organizations to orchestrate AI agents that automate complex, mission-critical workflows. We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Munich to embed directly with our largest DACH customers and help them become genuinely AI-native.

You'll work alongside our Enterprise AI Transformation Lead, acting as the on-the-ground technical expert: scoping, building, and shipping production-grade agents and integrations that deliver measurable value — and feeding those learnings back into the core product. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role at the intersection of elite engineering and customer partnership.

Significant travel across the DACH region is expected. You must be based in Munich or ready to relocate.

What You'll Do

• Embed on-site with major DACH enterprise accounts, running workshops, hackathons, and implementation sprints.

• Partner with customer CTOs and platform teams as a technical peer and strategic sparring partner.

• Scope, build, integrate, debug, and teach teams to adopt production AI agents and multi-step workflows.

• Ship end-to-end, high-leverage use cases: complex agents, custom integrations, MCP servers, and orchestrated workflows.

• Leave behind systems customers can own and operate independently — no hand-holding required.

• When platform limits appear, work directly with our engineering team and write fixes yourself.

• Identify product blockers and implement customer-driven improvements that push the platform forward.

• Automate your own work by building agents that eliminate manual, repetitive tasks.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

• 3+ years of enterprise software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering production-grade AI agentic workflows for enterprise customers.

• Hands-on experience shipping agentic AI systems, tool-use loops, and LLM-powered features that operate reliably under load.

• Strong full-stack engineering skills — capable of scoping and implementing end-to-end solutions, including integrations with external systems and multi-step workflows.

• Experience running on-site engagements with large enterprise customers (DACH preferred): workshops, hackathons, implementation sprints.

• Ability to scope a complex use case in a customer meeting and deliver end-to-end — fast and pragmatically.

• Experience building custom integrations with enterprise systems and MCP servers for agent deployment.

• Native-level German proficiency — this is a dealbreaker requirement.

• Based in Munich or genuinely willing to relocate; comfortable with frequent DACH travel.

Nice-to-haves:

• Go programming language experience.

• Founder or early-employee experience at a startup.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tooling (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) for building agents.

Beyond the résumé, we value: high agency, high energy, low ego, sharp communication, and a strong ownership mindset. We prioritize slope and values alongside years of experience.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $80,000 – $150,000 USD annually (or equivalent), depending on experience.

• Equity participation in a well-funded, early-stage company.

• Visa sponsorship: Not available — candidates must have the right to work in Germany.

Location

• On-site, Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

• Significant travel across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) is a core part of the role.

• The company is headquartered in San Francisco with a growing DACH presence.
