Forward Deployed Engineer
About the Role
This is a founding-team role at a Berlin-based, pre-seed AI-native platform built for private market operations — think fund accounting, treasury, and transfer agency automation powered by autonomous AI agents. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll own technical delivery end-to-end: sitting with customers to understand their workflows, translating those workflows into production-grade AI deployments, and feeding real-world insights back into the core product. You'll be a critical bridge between customer success and product evolution at a company operating at the frontier of AI in financial services.
The stack is modern and lean: TypeScript, NestJS, Postgres, Prisma, Inngest, Mastra, React, TanStack, and Tailwind. You'll work closely with a small, high-caliber founding team and have outsized influence on how the product grows.
What You'll Do
• Manage technical delivery across the full project lifecycle — from initial discovery through to production launch.
• Collaborate directly with customer operations teams in private markets to map workflows, surface pain points, and identify adoption barriers.
• Convert customer processes into AI-driven, production-ready workflows on the platform.
• Build customer-tailored prototypes with rapid iteration cycles, making informed scope adjustments along the way.
• Bring deployment learnings back into product planning to continuously sharpen the platform.
• Develop standardized approaches and reusable components from recurring patterns across customer deployments.
What We're Looking For
Required:
• Proven ability to transform customer workflows into production deployments of AI-driven systems (agents, LLM pipelines, or similar).
• End-to-end technical ownership mindset — you're comfortable driving a project from discovery to go-live without heavy scaffolding.
• Experience engaging and collaborating with stakeholders in operations-heavy, process-rich environments (private markets / financial services a strong plus).
• Proficiency deploying AI/ML systems to production: monitoring, rollback, reliability practices.
• Eligibility to work in Germany without visa sponsorship and willingness to work on-site in Berlin.
Nice to Have:
• Comfort operating in a small founding-team environment with high ambiguity, fast iteration, and broad scope.
• Familiarity with fund accounting, fund administration, or private market operations workflows.
• Experience with any part of the tech stack: TypeScript, NestJS, React, Postgres, or LLM orchestration frameworks.
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Early-stage equity opportunity with a founding team.
• High-impact, high-ownership role with direct influence on product direction.
Location
• On-site in Berlin, Germany — this is a fully in-person role.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must already have the right to work in Germany.
