Responsibilities
Direct overall operation, management, and safety of the unit offshore; supervise rig positioning and anchor mooring; plan and supervise rig activities such as repairs and maintenance; coordinate with supervisors concerning ballast and loading; order rig supplies and materials; make decisions regarding equipment utilization; conduct daily briefs and operations meetings with Rig Manager and key personnel; communicate with Operator's on-site representative; complete required paperwork and maintain file systems; control drilling rig costs; train and develop subordinate personnel; command the vessel under Rig Manager direction; ensure vessel integrity and stability; oversee catering staff and hygiene; prepare status reports and evaluations; carry out administrative functions; assist in preparing annual operating budget; implement and uphold safety policies; ensure compliance with environmental prevention requirements
