Systems Design Engineer (New Grad)
Core
Debugging hardware and software failures on prototype and production discrete Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) to isolate root causes and drive fixes.
Role type
New graduate systems design engineer (hardware debugging)
Builds
Industry-leading discrete Graphics Processing Units (GPUs)
Domain
Semiconductor / Hardware Engineering
Required skills
Hardware debugging, root cause analysis, lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers), Python scripting, computer architecture fundamentals, test plan development, silicon bring-up, data-driven failure pattern analysis
Preferred skills
Board/platform-level debug, Linux/Unix environments, machine learning for pattern recognition
Technologies
Python, shell, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers
Responsibilities
Own and drive debugging of hardware and software failures on prototype and production silicon; Design and execute targeted experiments to isolate failures across hardware, firmware, drivers, and system software; Use lab instrumentation alongside software tools to capture and interpret failure signatures; Engage design, architecture, and software teams to reproduce issues, validate hypotheses, and verify fixes; Author clear, structured debug reports documenting reproduction steps, root cause analysis, and resolution; Develop and maintain debug scripts and automation tools to accelerate failure triage; Contribute to test plan development to improve coverage of corner cases and failure modes; Participate in silicon bring-up, characterizing new hardware and establishing baseline behavior to detect regressions early
Seniority
New Grad, hands-on IC
