Role Overview:
We are seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer to join our team focused on GNSS Connectivity. This role is part of the Software team at General Motors, working on the digital backbone of GM vehicles. The role involves creating the in-vehicle digital ecosystem that brings GM’s software-defined future to life, including infotainment, apps, connectivity, personalization, and seamless interactions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test hardware components related to GNSS connectivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GNSS solutions into vehicle systems.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of GNSS hardware in vehicle environments.
- Conduct research and development to explore new GNSS technologies and their applications.
- Work with software teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software solutions.
- Participate in the design and validation of hardware prototypes for GNSS connectivity.
- Contribute to the development of scalable and maintainable hardware solutions for future vehicle platforms.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on connectivity systems.
- Strong understanding of GNSS technologies, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou.
- Experience with hardware design, prototyping, and testing in automotive environments.
- Proficiency in circuit design, signal integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) principles.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
