Job Description & Summary

PwC’s Public Sector practice delivers advisory and analytical support for EU institutions, focusing on process optimizations, structural reforms, and digitalization. Our teams work across complex assignments for EU institutions, public authorities and international organizations, combining multidisciplinary expertise to provide high‑quality, evidence‑based solutions. 

We are looking for an experienced Geospatial Application Developer to join our team and support the development, integration, and optimization of enterprise GIS solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the design and maintenance of web mapping applications, geospatial services, and ArcGIS-based solutions that enable users to visualize and analyze spatial data for informed decision-making.

For an ongoing client assignment, we are looking for: 

GIS Application Developer (freelance) 

Your future role:  

• Configure, maintain, and support ArcGIS web mapping applications and geospatial services,
• Create and maintain geo-catalogues, map repositories, and geospatial applications,
• Integrate GIS services with business applications and other enterprise systems,
• Develop, optimize, and automate geospatial processes and tools based on user requirements,
• Customize and enhance ArcGIS Portal applications to improve data visualization and analysis capabilities,
• Contribute to the development and validation of web map dictionaries, metadata, and taxonomies,
• Monitor and optimize the performance of ArcGIS applications, services, and related technologies,
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality geospatial solutions. 

Apply if you have:  

• Strong expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, web services, geo-catalogues, and metadata management,
• Experience integrating GIS services with applications and third-party systems,
• Proven ability to create, optimize, and maintain geospatial tools and workflows,
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and methodologies,
• Hands-on experience developing geospatial applications using: ArcGIS Experience Builder (Developer Edition), ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript
• Strong knowledge of modern web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+),TypeScript, React, Angular, Vite Web Components
• Experience with Python scripting, including: ArcGIS API for Python, ArcPy,
• Experience working with ArcGIS REST API and OGC services,
• Experience developing and maintaining applications in C#,
• Previous experience working within European Institutions, international organizations, or the public sector will be considered a strong asset.
