Offer Description
• Conducting scientific research within the statutory activities of the department /research team;
• Publishing research results in the form of monographs, edited volumes (book chapters), and articles in international peer-reviewed journals;
• Applying for and managing research grants, particularly within national and international competitive funding schemes;
• Contributing to the dissemination and public outreach of research results produced at the Institute;
• Performing other duties assigned by the Director of the Institute.
Requirements
General Requirements:
• A publication record appropriate to the stage of the candidate’s academic career;
• Documented (supported by publications) proficiency in conducting quantitative research, using statistics;
• Documented proficiency in English (supported by publications and/or certificates) at a level enabling the conduct of research and publication in international academic outlets (C1 level);
• Other academic achievements, including awards, research grants, and fellowships, particularly international ones.
Substantive Requirements:
• Research interests, confirmed by publications in international peer-reviewed journals, monographs, and edited volumes, aligned with the research profile of the team, including: empirical research, political institutions and elections, electoral behaviour, research on candidates and incumbents in key political institutions, electoral polls, political parties;
Formal Requirements:
• Holding a postdoctoral degree (habilitation) or an equivalent academic position or qualification demonstrating substantial scholarly achievement and the capacity to conduct research independently in the disciplines of sociology or political science;

• The Institute offers remuneration comprising a basic salary not lower than that provided for in Article 137 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018, and the regulation amending the regulation on the minimum monthly basic salary for a professor at a public university, of April 14, 2026, and other components of remuneration, including seniority allowances, in accordance with the Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences of April 30, 2010, and may include functional allowances, incentive bonuses, and bonuses for scientific achievements in accordance with the orders of the Director of the Institute.
Base Salary: PLN 8100 gross per month
