## About the role
As the Technical Project Manager for the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, you will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering reliability-focused initiatives that ensure the scalability, availability, and performance of our platforms and services. You will work closely with SREs, engineering teams, and stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into actionable work, championing best practices in reliability, automation, and operational excellence. You will also provide project leadership supporting reliability service delivery, including management of key initiatives needed to scale and enhance our practices, and delivery oversight for SRE scrum teams.
## Responsibilities
- Serve as Tech PM for a centralized SRE services team, overseeing delivery of key initiatives, managing timelines, risks, communication, stakeholder collaboration.
- Translate platform / SRE needs into clear product requirements and priorities.
- Identify and prioritize developer pain points using qualitative and quantitative signals with the focus on impact.
- Own prioritization for a shared SRE backlog, supporting multiple Conference Tech Scrum teams, based on business impact and risk reduction.
- Define and track success metrics such as developer productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Run discovery through developer interviews, Dev Experience surveys, support interruptions, incident reviews, and platform metrics (e.g. DORA, CI/CD reliability).
- Lead migrations and deprecations with empathy, clarity, and consistency.
## Requirements
- 2 - 4 years working as Technical Project Manager, Product Owner or similar role in Platform environments.
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, Product Owner or similar role in a software engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of SRE principles, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, incident management, and automation tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty, Terraform, etc.).
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, especially SCRUM and experience working within those methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Technical background (e.g., former engineer, SRE, or similar) is highly desirable.
## Nice to Have
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or agile methodologies.
