Position Overview
Autodesk's Technical Advisory organization is building a digital consulting platform powered by implementation expertise captured from hundreds of enterprise engagements. That expertise needs to become customer-facing content - structured, validated, and published through the platform and through sales and positioning materials. The Principal Solution Development Manager will orchestrate that production. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Content & Knowledge within Global Delivery & Solutions, you will manage the end-to-end content production pipeline: taking requirements from product managers, subject matter experts, and platform colleagues, sourcing content from internal consultants and external vendors, managing production through to completion, and validating the result directly with customers. You are not the primary content creator - you ensure the right content gets built by the right people, on time, to standard. In the first year, you will establish the content production workflow, build the contributor network of internal SMEs and external vendors, publish customer-facing platform content and positioning materials, and run customer validation sessions that create a feedback loop between what we publish and what customers actually need.
Responsibilities
Content Production Management
- Intake content requirements from subject matter experts, product managers, and other platform colleagues and translate them into production plans with clear scope, timelines, and acceptance criteria
- Source and manage content contributors across multiple channels: internal consultants and SMEs, external vendors, and contractors
- Develop and maintain content briefs, production standards, and quality gates that enable consistent output regardless of who produces the content
- Manage contributor relationships including scoping, contracting, and quality review
- Track and report on pipeline throughput: what's in progress, what's blocked, what's delivered, what's next
- Maintain momentum across concurrent production workstreams - identifying blockers early and escalating when needed
Customer Validation and Feedback
- Plan and run customer validation sessions to test whether published content meets real customer needs and implementation scenarios
- Design repeatable validation workflows and standards that can be executed by others - consultants, product managers, or delivery teams - so validation scales beyond any single person
- Synthesize customer feedback into actionable inputs: what content needs improving, what's missing, what should be retired
- Feed validation insights back to product management and the content production pipeline to drive continuous improvement
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work with the Content & Knowledge team to understand what knowledge is available, how it's structured, and what's ready for customer-facing production
- Partner with solution product managers to
