Associate Software Engineer
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly web applications using Angular/React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Implement new frontend features and enhance existing applications based on business and user requirements.
- Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs, including .NET Core backend services.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues related to functionality, performance, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to development best practices.
- Continuously learn and adopt new technologies while contributing to team knowledge sharing and process improvements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or other
- 0–1 year of experience, internship experience, or academic project exposure in frontend/web application development.
Key competencies
- Good understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with modern frontend framework such as Angular and/or React through projects, internships, or coursework.
- Basic understanding of Node.js, npm, and frontend build tools.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and frontend integration with .NET Core Web APIs.
- Understanding of responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility, and web accessibility principles.
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps for version control and collaboration.
- Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Exposure to unit testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, Jest, or React Testing Library is a plus.
- Exposure to state management concepts such as RxJS, Redux, or Context API is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure is a plus.
