## About the Role ReviewTailor is a Techstars-backed startup reimagining how teams manage performance. We create innovative tools that simplify reviews, align goals, and improve communication for growing teams. One of our newest products, Career Companion, helps professionals set goals, build skills, navigate career transitions, and grow their careers, making career development simple, guided, and connected. We're looking for a UI/UX Engineer Intern to help us create intuitive, engaging, and user-centered experiences for Career Companion. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with the founding team to design and build experiences that help users achieve value quickly and confidently. ## Responsibilities - Design intuitive user interfaces and workflows for web-based applications - Create wireframes, mockups, user flows, and interactive prototypes - Conduct user research and gather feedback to inform product decisions - Collaborate with founders, product, and engineering to translate ideas into exceptional user experiences - Build and refine front-end components using Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS - Improve onboarding experiences and help users achieve value within minutes of engaging with the platform - Identify usability issues and recommend solutions based on user behavior and feedback - Ensure designs are responsive, accessible, and aligned with modern UX best practices - Contribute to design systems, UI standards, and product consistency - Participate in testing and iteration cycles to continuously improve the user experience ## Requirements - Experience with UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar - Basic experience with frontend development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Next.js - Understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices - Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows - Strong visual design skills with attention to detail - Curiosity about user behavior and a desire to solve real customer problems - Strong communication and collaboration skills - Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced startup environment - Interest in career development, workforce innovation, and the future of work ## Bonus Skills - Experience designing SaaS or consumer-facing products - Familiarity with Tailwind CSS - Experience conducting user interviews or usability testing - Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) - Understanding of conversion optimization and onboarding design ## What You'll Gain - Direct mentorship from the founding team - Hands-on experience designing and improving a live product used by real users - Exposure to startup product strategy, user research, and design thinking - Opportunity to influence the direction of a growing product - Experience working across design and engineering disciplines - Portfolio-worthy projects with measurable user impact - Flexible remote work schedule ## Compensation Unpaid internship ## Internship Details - Duration: 2-3 months (with potential to extend) - Location: Fully remote (U.S.-based) ## Why Join Us?
