Contract Full Stack Engineer

## About the role Purposely.ai is a software and agent platform that delivers AI insights and streamlined workflows for media and creative strategists. We help remove the guesswork with automated creative insights that tell you exactly which text and visual elements perform best, then streamline content planning workflows. Live brands on the platform include Fjällräven, World Central Kitchen, and 30+ others. We're realizing double the ROI in half the time for our beta partners, with case studies to prove it. We're seeking a motivated and self-sufficient full stack software engineer to shepherd our team, processes and product from AI-forward to AI-native. You will work closely with the CEO/Product Lead, Data Engineer, Product Advisor and Creative Strategist, and will be offered competitive equity and salary options. You'll also have the option to convert to full time (contract to hire) and grow rapidly in the role. ## Qualifications Minimum requirements include: - 5+ years of experience building and maintaining software products, especially desktop web applications - Experience building with AI coding Agents like Claude Code, and a belief that engineering software using coding Agents speeds up the process and unlocks opportunity - Hands-on experience in both front-end and back-end software development, with work samples to show - Proficient to advanced in Javascript, React, or equivalent languages and frameworks - Experience automating manual processes like new user/partner onboarding, etc - Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking the initiative - Growth mindset: an eagerness to continuously learn and grow - Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent time management and prioritization skills An ideal candidate will have: - Experience with APIs and 3rd party product integrations, both in terms of tactical execution and strategic approach. ETL experience is a strong plus. - Experience integrating 3rd party channels like Google Ads and/or email marketing platforms - A demonstrated interest in building software with seamless UX and aesthetically pleasing front-end UIs - Experience working in or interest in the digital media landscape, especially adtech, digital marketing and advertising - Experience and demonstrated interest in building products with the help of AI coding agents (AI Engineering– not Vibe Coding) If interested, email alex at purposely dot ai and briefly explain why and what makes you qualified.
