## About the Role You'll be a senior voice on our engineering team, owning the design and reliability of the systems that move millions of images through our GPU pipeline every month. This is a hands-on role with real architectural ownership: you'll shape how our platform scales, set the technical bar for the team, and work directly with our Fractional CTO and API/Platform Lead on the decisions that matter most. ## What You'll Own - Architecture and performance of the Python services behind our image ingestion, processing, and delivery pipeline - GPU infrastructure cost and reliability, an area where small improvements translate to meaningful margin - Technical direction for observability, distributed tracing, and incident response across our distributed systems - Design reviews, code quality, and mentorship for the wider engineering team - Third-party integrations with enterprise customers running high-volume workloads against our API ## Requirements - 6+ years of backend development experience, with deep Python expertise - Track record of owning systems in production at scale, you've been the person on call when things break and the person who designed the fix - AI-assisted coding proficiency, you actively use Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools in your daily workflow (our technical task will require this) - Strong experience with AWS (S3, Lambda, and the wider ecosystem) or comparable cloud platforms - Comfortable making architectural trade-offs and writing the design docs to justify them - Strong debugging instincts across async systems, queues, and GPU workloads - Based in Europe with the right to work in your country of residence ## Nice to Have - Experience with GPU workloads, ML inference infrastructure, or media processing pipelines - Background in image processing (HDR merging, RAW handling, metadata extraction, color science) - Experience scaling a platform from low millions to tens of millions of monthly operations - Familiarity with Sentry, OpenTelemetry, or similar observability stacks - Exposure to billing and subscription systems at scale ## What We Offer - Senior-level ownership in a focused team where your decisions ship to production fast - Direct collaboration with the leadership team on technical strategy - Modern AI-first development practices, we use the tools we're building alongside - Competitive salary and meaningful equity - Remote-friendly, London-based company
