## About the Role You will be the technical co-founder of Adia. ## What We Are Looking For You are not looking for a developer. You are looking for a co-founder who will look back in ten years and say this was the best decision they ever made. ## What Adia Is Every year, Houston's Nigerian-American community sends hundreds of millions of dollars home to Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu. They do it through platforms built in Seattle and London by people who have never sat in Alief on a Sunday and heard someone describe their transfer being frozen the week their sister needed surgery money. Those platforms — Remitly, LemFi, WorldRemit, Western Union — all share the same catastrophic flaw: an algorithm suspends your account, no human calls you, and your money disappears into a queue. We have read thousands of their customer complaints. We know exactly what they all have and exactly what none of them has built. Adia is different in eight specific, measurable, competitive ways. We treat every money transfer as a gift. We show the recipient's exact amount — in naira or pesos — before a user even creates an account. We send a WhatsApp message to the person in Lagos the moment money is sent, in Yoruba, English, or Pidgin. And when anything goes wrong, a human being calls the customer within four hours — in their language. No chatbot. No ticket number. A person. We are the only remittance platform being built in Houston — the city with the largest Nigerian diaspora in the United States. That is not a coincidence. That is a structural competitive advantage no one from Silicon Valley can replicate. ## What We Have Already Built (Before You Arrived) This is not a napkin idea. When you join, you are inheriting: - A 120-page production-ready product specification document — every screen, every API endpoint, every database schema, every WhatsApp message template, every compliance requirement, written and ready - A validated market thesis drawn from 30+ hours of customer discovery interviews in Houston's Nigerian-American community - A BaaS strategy (Unit + Persona + Sardine + Plaid + Twilio + WhatsApp Business API) — the entire third-party integration architecture is already selected and documented - Active conversations with the Houston CBN Diaspora Forum organizer (the Central Bank of Nigeria's direct channel to Nigerian banks) - A fintech regulatory attorney already engaged for FinCEN MSB registration, AML policy, and Texas regulatory strategy - A founder with deep community relationships in Houston's Nigerian-American community, a corporate executive background at BP, and the capital to fund the build You are not being handed a dream. You are being handed a blueprint. Your job is to build it.
