Job Description (Responsibilities):
- Conceptual (further) development of service and support offerings and maintenance of existing offerings.
- Support of practical users in the self-application of the model (conducting user training; technical support).
- Continuous and close exchange with key actors from research and practice.
- Conducting urban climate simulations (procurement and preparation of input data; execution of simulation runs; textual and visual preparation of results).
- Testing and validation of innovative application areas such as agent-based, indoor climate, and hydrological modeling.
- These tasks require close cooperation with other colleagues involved in the consolidation, as well as external cooperation and practice partners.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Very good communication skills in speech and writing in German and English.
- Knowledge of urban climatology and urban planning is an advantage.
- Initiative and willingness to independently work into new and complex subject areas.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is required.
- Enjoyment of data analysis in the field of geosciences, particularly Python (numpy, xarray, pandas).
- Experience in numerical modeling on HPC systems including virtual compute clusters, particularly Fortran, MPI, NetCDF, GIS.
- University degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geography, or comparable study programs.
- Solid experience in working at the interface of research and application.
